You are going on holidays in a few days, and you have a cat, dog or hamster at home that will need to be taken care of during your absence? You are a plant lover, and you wonder whether you will not find your flowers thirsty and withered when back home? Here are a few tips you surely already know but that are always good to remind in case you feel worried about the ones you leave behind to have a little bit of fun far away from the daily routine.
Of course, the first reflex in case you have a pet to feed or a plant to water because you take a vacation period will be to call your friends and relatives. If they are in town while you are away, do not hesitate to ask them to come over and do the supplying job. Leave them the keys if you trust them enough, and give them the proper instructions they need to complete their tasks in the best way possible.
Sometimes, your pet demands a constant presence. If you leave for a long time, the feeding issue will be permanently raised. Instead of coming over from time to time, asking your friends or family to take your pet at their house for the whole time of your vacation can be another solution to consider. If a flower can be watered once a week, perhaps your dog will need a daily presence to get his food and urinate.
Another solution would be to hire a professional who will stay at your house while you are away in order to take care of your pet. If you are financially ready for it, it can be a safe alternative to avoid bothering your friends (if you actually think you are going to bother them if you ask them to look after you dog, cat or so).
One last thing: have you also considered going on holidays with your small companion? This can be a good plan as well, and a good opportunity to build up a few recollections.
