Going on holidays is often synonymous with respecting a budget. The cost of life is rising in a lot of places in the world due to multiple factors, and families are thinking hard to conjugate chilling with control. The quest is common to a lot of people, and success does not always prevail depending on your ability to stand up to the temptation.
Travelling to South Africa or Morocco can be the trip of one’s life. This feeling is even emphasized by the fact that many families did not have the opportunity to go on vacation over the last few years. This summer is the occasion for a bunch of fellows to enjoy holidays at home or abroad again. Still, the budget issue is still there, and it is maybe even more pregnant in an inflationist context where you have to consider everything (unless you win billions).
Booking a place to stay and purchasing the tickets (train, plane) is going to stand for at least 40% or 50% of your expenditure. Once this is done, it is time to think of leisure time. How much to eat, to hang out and to have fun? Of course, do not forget the visa fees if you are going to a country where you have to apply for a visa even if you act like a tourist.
The constitution of your household will directly determine the financial capacity you will have during your holidays. Going abroad with 2 or 3 children is different from spending some time in a foreign country all alone or in couple. Keep in mind that spending a lot of money does not mean doing a wonderful thing, and touristic activities that cost a lot are not always worth it. The quality of your holidays is not necessarily linked with the amount of money that you spend. And if you exceed your budget a little bit, no pressure. Enjoy your time, and big money will come when you get back.
