Do not throw your garbage anywhere

It may sound like something obvious, but we have to admit that the evidence is not shared by everyone. Throwing one’s waste in the street, on the beach or in nature with no consideration for the surroundings has unfortunately become a habit for too many of us. What would the planet look like if the 8 billion people living on Earth were acting the same and throwing their garbage anywhere?

Let us start with a simple observation. Next time you are going out, just take a look at the waste that you see NOT in dustbin: stobs, paper, cans, bags, bottles, packaging…This is huge. To those who may say that the trash is full, this is not an excuse. You can keep your waste and throw it later. Daily life, holidays, there is no difference. Some people (not everyone, fortunately) do not care about the environment and throw (or leave) their waste very freely while walking or talking on the phone.

Indifference, negligence, oblivion? Perhaps you will be surprised to notice that the fellow that threw something in the street will apologize and take back his or her garbage as soon as you made a remark. Why did you need a remark to notice that such a gesture was wrong? Beyond pollution and ecological issues, this is also a matter of common sense. When at home, no one throws their garbage on the floor. There is a special object dedicated to it, and it is called trash.

While on holidays, spending some time on the beach can turn into a quest towards clean places. Smokers do not have any scruples to leave their stob on the sand. For the sake of the planet and mankind, just put it on a dustbin. It will not cost you anything, maybe a few seconds, and everyone will benefit from your action. Again, it is our planet, and we must take care of it. No one will do it for us.
