
Dakar, Senegal – The Awards of African Youth (AJA) 2025 honored outstanding young Africans who are making waves in their respective fields. The ceremony, held from November 27 to 29, brought together innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders from across the continent.
The AJA, founded by journalist Diara Ndiaye, aims to promote and support young African talents in various sectors. This year’s theme, “Tech & Digital Sovereignty,” highlighted the critical role technology plays in shaping Africa’s future.
Five exceptional young Africans were recognized for their contributions:
- Cheikh Ahmed Tidiane Dieng (Senegal) revolutionizes sports with SamaCoach, a digital platform enhancing athletic performance.
- Sophonie Foka (DRC) designs hybrid neonatal incubators powered by solar energy and AI, saving countless lives.
- Djakaridja Bamba (Côte d’Ivoire) empowers rural girls through her Amazones d’Abolikro initiative, fostering education and self-reliance.
- Koueubatouka Divin Arnaud (Congo-Brazzaville) develops Greenbox, a solar-powered cold storage system, boosting food security.
- Rokiatu Traoré (Mali) champions women’s empowerment through sustainable land restoration and economic growth.
These trailblazers embody the spirit of innovation and resilience that defines Africa’s youth. The AJA continues to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for the continent’s future leaders.
