NBA : Who can still compete for the Larry O’Brien trophy?

The NBA playoffs are currently raging in the US, and this 2023/2024 edition is a good vintage with a bunch of very good quality confrontations. The opposition between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia Sixers in the first round of the playoffs was a tough one, eventually won 4-2 by the Big Apple franchise who sent Cameroonian center Joel Embiid on vacation earlier than he was probably expecting. The Knicks are now facing the Indian Pacers of Cameroonian forward Pascal Siakam, once a Raptor, and they are currently leading 2-1 in the series. Compelled to play without a few major players like their best element Julius Randle, center Mitchell Robinson or Croatian forward Bojan Bogdanovic, the Knicks recently suffered the injury from English Nigerian forward OG Anunoby, which leaves American coach Tom Thibodeau fewer and fewer choices for the rest of the competition. Nigerian center Precious Achiuwa is expected to play more, and players like Josh Hart, Jalen Brunson or Donte Divincenzo are expected to play the whole part of the game with a higher risk of injury. Since Thibodeau likes relying on seven or eight players during the game, this should be the tendency for the Knicks.Still in the East, Boston is leading 2-1 in the series against Cleveland while the champion in title Denver is led 1-2 by the Minnesota Timberwolves of French center Rudy Gobert, who became a father recently and missed Game 2. The confrontation between the Dallas Mavericks of Kyrie Irving and the Thunder of Oklahoma City is in favor of the Mavs right now (2-1). Tight games, clutch players and uncertain results, this is what the fans have been praying for after the last sweeps of the first round (New Orleans and Phoenix can tell). What now?
