Expensive August ?

1 / 1

The most expensive periods of the year when talking about going abroad usually remain the summertime season (July and August) and the end of the year (December). While summer is coming closer and closer, it is time for the ones who have not booked anything yet to consider the time of holidays. And sometimes, you do not have the choice.

If you are working in a company that traditionally stops its activities in the summer, you will be obliged to go on holidays during the closing period. In other words, you will be left with no choice but go on vacation when your company tells you to. If this closing period falls on August, you have hit the jackpot: this is the most expensive period to go abroad!

You may have already witnessed it, but a flight ticket to go to a foreign country is always much more expensive in August than in July, without even mentioning September. If you are compelled to leave in August, there are still some tips to follow in order to keep it affordable, as told earlier in a previous article: avoid flying in the weekend, and try to book your ticket late in the night, without forgetting to check several flight comparators before making your choice.

If the price matters a lot to you, you can also decide to go closer without any transfer: if you live in Europe, you can find direct destinations in Africa depending on the city you are settled. In Paris, Marseille or Lyon if you live in France for instance, it is not impossible at all to take just one plane to go to your holiday destination in Africa. If you are living in North America, you will probably have to do a transfer in Europe before going to Africa.
