Miracle in Zimbabwe : a seven-year-old child survives surrounded by lions and elephants

This is the kind of news that tends to lift us up: in Zimbabwe, a young child was found alive after five days all alone in a park that was filled up with wild animals. Lions, leopards, buffaloes and elephants did not harm the seven-year-old child, who must have given a pretty big scare to his parents.

Tinotenda Pundu survived by feeding himself with berries and digging a hole in the banks of the river to find some water. The young child also slept on rocks to protect himself from the animals of the park. Tinotenda stayed in the park for five days before being found by the local authorities.

The young child also walked about fifty kilometers on foot in the national park of Matusadona, which is located in the northern part of the country. The park, not so far away from his village, is sheltering a lot of wild animals that could possibly have hurt the little boy. Nevertheless, Tinotenda was found without any injury on December 31st in the morning, one day before the new year. He was weak but not injured, and was hospitalized in the hours that followed the good news.

National parks happen to be a relevant and efficient solution to protect endangered animal species in Africa such as lions, gorillas and elephants. Such parks enable to prevent poaching and contribute to preserve a lot of species that could disappear in the next couple of years if nothing is done.

The intelligence and perspicacity of the young child must be highlighted. In a hostile environment, Tinotenda managed to make it and kept a cool head to find the appropriate responses in a place where nature prevails. He did not give in to panic and behaved as a genuine adventurer in order to spend 2025 with his relatives.
