Life is not easy, especially when you come across the wrong people. Fortunately, some associations can help the needy ones to recover little by little.
Do you know the “little pink house” in Dakar, Senegal? And do you know the extension of the house project by the Senegalese architectural firm ID+EA ?
ID+EA is currently developing a nursery project for the “little pink house”. This project includes the establishment of training rooms and game areas for children.
On top of that, a terrace, some green spaces and a dormitory will strengthen and consolidate the assets of the first building. The game areas will be able to welcome up to 15 children.

In the end, the women hosted in the nursery should be able to find a safe and peaceful space where they can rebuild themselves, far away from the difficulties they had to cope with in their daily lives
The “little pink house” was set up in November 2008 by Mona Chasserio.
The house is welcoming women, teenagers and babies who experimented physical and psychological violences. Most of the time, the women who choose to join the “little pink house” have been victims of sexual abuse or rape.

The team of the “little pink house” is composed of specialized educators whose goal consists in welcoming the women and listening to their stories. Ultimately, the house will attempt to reintegrate these women into the society.
Thanks to diversified workshops (sewing, yoga, theater…), the association tries to give back confidence to these women who were hurt by life, and who often come from little villages. Most of the time, they were deceived by men who took advantage of their gullibility.
The house wishes to analyze the inconscient of each woman: the sewing activity, for instance, will compel to stay focused on the present and what is happening now, instead of thinking about the past.
Eventually, the association wants to develop comprehension, respect and tolerance in a world where differences (culture, religion) are often pointed out in a negative way.
