Congolese rumba singer Fally Ipupa has teamed up with iconic Dutch textile brand Vlisco for the release of his new music video, “MAYANGA.” The track, launched on March 29th, coincides with Vlisco’s latest fabric collection, “The Garden of Sisterhood”.
Vlisco has always emphasized African style and culture through their textiles, and this collaboration blends the brand’s commitment to creativity, cultural expression, and fashion with Ipupa’s musical passion. The song and its accompanying video are a tribute to the beauty that emerges when women unite, celebrating both their individuality and the power of collective connection.

Ipupa’s fusion of soulful rumba and contemporary sound has made him one of Africa’s most beloved artists, and “MAYANGA” is no exception. The track beautifully illustrates the power of community through music. The collaboration also highlights the deep connection between fashion and cultural storytelling, with Ivorian fashion designer Loza Maléombho’s stunning designs and Nigerian director Daniel Obasi’s striking visual direction further enriching the narrative. The result is a poignant celebration of women’s empowerment, self-expression, and unity— the perfect way to close out Women’s History Month.
Reflecting on the collaboration, a representative from Vlisco said, “It has been an honor to work with Fally Ipupa and the creative team on ‘The Garden of Sisterhood’ campaign, and the ‘MAYANGA’ song and video collaboration. This partnership is a tribute to beauty and the woman who wears Vlisco.”
With “MAYANGA,” Fally Ipupa not only delivers another dance-worthy new song, but also contributes to a larger conversation about the power of unity, cultural pride, and the incredible strength of women.
