Do not let social networks blow your mind

The major part social and/or professional networks have been playing in our respective lives does not even need to be demonstrated. Some businessmen/women will use Instagram to sell their products and services and increase the visibility of their brand. Some candidates will update their resume on LinkedIn in order to get more chances to get the accurate job. Some people will just post pictures of their daily life on Facebook to share a trip, a meal or a new garment with their community.

Nevertheless, the feedback, returns and comments can sometimes drive you crazy, especially if you come across the ones who are called “haters” on the web: do not let them make you down!

It is essential to take a step back when you decide to create an account on social networks, especially when you know that anybody can possibly comment on what you posted. Most of the time, comments are generally positive. If they do criticize what you posted, the person behind the comment will explain and tell you why he or she did not appreciate what you posted: it is called the constructive criticism. You may be a little upset, but getting a constructive criticism can sometimes help you to improve, and the person did not make it to hurt you.

The problem shows up when you get a free, unfair and aggressive comment. Not always justified, and not always easy to understand. Not always easy to answer too by the way.

Of course, keeping one’s head up can be a solution to consider when you come across that type of comment. Keep in mind that people on social networks act fearless because they think they are untouchable and cannot be found : they feel free, and the bad ones will feel free enough to say nasty things because this is the way some human beings act when they do not feel good in their lives. Hurting people willingly has become a bad habit on social networks. If you are concerned about it, tell yourself that your person does not have to be questioned. No one makes unanimity. Stay calm, and keep doing what you like no matter what. The ones who criticize you may not be brave enough to try something. Writing some words to assess the work of someone has always been easier than doing something.

Nowadays, social networks allow you to report in case of issue with a member. You can also choose who will see your posts. If you think you will not manage to stay impassive if you get a haters’ comment, you can also consider leaving social networks provided this does not endanger your business.

In every case, the importance of social networks in our lives should be moderated. Your mood of the day must not be dependent on a comment or a number of likes. Trying to temper the use of such tools can turn out to be a good decision for you, your eyes and your mental health.
