A few tips to avoid the Christmas rush in department stores

This is it. The Christmas rush has officially been launched. Hundreds of parents, children and relatives are taking over the different department stores of your city to find the perfect gift to offer. If queuing for 35 minutes makes you feel upset, here are a few tips you maybe already know to help you to live the moment differently (and in a better way and mood).

10 days before Christmas, the tip that recommends you to do your shopping early and anticipate the rush is no longer useful. Those who were wise enough to buy everything in November or in the early days of December can now relax and rejoice. For the other ones, including myself, the job must be done now. The crowd is everywhere, but we need those presents!

First, there is a simple and very efficient way to avoid the Christmas rush in town: you can buy everything online. This method will be advantageous in many ways, since you will save time (and maybe money if you come across good deals). You will also save your energy and preserve your good mood, far away from the 257 clients that decided to go to Zara or H&M at the exact same time in the day.

Comfortably sitting in front of your computer, just take the time to choose your gifts for the ones you love. The only seamy side is that you will not be able to see the good for real before buying it. If you are buying some garment, make sure that you choose the right size (or select the “return/pay back” option if necessary).

Then, you can also decide to go to department stores when it is not rush hour: forget about the weekends, otherwise you will meet the whole city in the same circumference. You can try, for instance, to do your shopping at the lunch break, or in the week in the morning if your schedule allows you to do so.

One last tip that will enable you to avoid the Christmas rush with a 100% success rate: do not offer anything. Well, you will perhaps be saved from the clients, but not from your children if there is nothing under the Christmas tree. Beware, and enjoy your holidays!
