Nowadays, most companies and private individuals cannot live without social networks: advertising, promotion, visibility, image and notoriety, that is to say money, are making it essential to create one’s page and talk about one’s life, services and products. Whether you are setting up this page for your own sake or for a company’s purpose, the bullying issue is never far away. What can you do if you are coming across a hater that keeps sending you negativity?
The first step will be the report. All social networks, including Instagram and Facebook, enable the user to report an account that does not respect the rules of the platform. If so, the profile will be banned. This is not the best solution though, because the harm has already been done. Moreover, what if you have a bunch of accounts to report? Companies can easily face hundreds of inappropriate comments. Are you going to report each of them one by one?
Beyond the report, the good solution would be to ignore the pure negativity that does not bring anything. A constructive criticism has to be distinguished from a comment that only wants to hurt and upset. If it is only about insulting and abusing, do not waste your time. Easy to say of course, especially if you are dealing with a stubborn mind that has nothing to do but sending a myriad messages every day. Report, keep a distance and do not take it personal. Whatever you do in your life, you will never make unanimity.
Everyone can be touched by a negative comment, even though we act like we are not. When it comes to the family, it can even be difficult to handle. Do not let that negativity affect you. Take some distance and stay confident. Focus on the good comments, and do not try to change the mind of someone whose only goal is to disturb you. Generally, a hater acts like this because he/she feels safe and comfortable in front of his/her screen. Meet the guy in real life and it will be completely different.
Do not lose your time, and do not spend all your time on social networks trying to convince. Eventually, do not hesitate to ask for help if the problem persists. Many professionals and private individuals can bring you their own experience, and tell you how they managed to pass the step of the bad comments and the ones who wrote them.
