Times are getting hard for the Milwaukee Bucks in this 2025/2026 NBA season. The 2021 NBA champion is currently ranking 11th in the Eastern Conference with a worrying victory rate which is barely reaching 40% (27 victories and 39 defeats). Far away from the last years’ performances, the Wisconsin franchise is not expecting a lot in 2026. A last chapter for the Greek Freak before moving next summer?
The Bucks are not making it this year. They lost their last four games against the Orlando Magic (91-130), the Phoenix Suns (114-129), the Miami Heat (105-112) and the Atlanta Hawks (99-122). In spite of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s return, Milwaukee is still finding it hard to win a game. The fellows that used to back up the Greek Nigerian power forward are no longer playing for the Bucks.
Khris Middleton, Brook Lopez and Jrue Holiday are gone, and teammates like Kyle Kuzma, Ousmane Dieng and Myles Turner are not managing to make the difference for the time being. Damian Lillard’s transfer turned out to be unsuccessful, and the 9-time All-Star did not bring what he was supposed to in Wisconsin, before leaving for Portland in 2025.
In those hard times for Doc River’s squad, Giannis Antetokounmpo is wondering whether he will continue with the franchise. The tendency is leading towards a departure in the next couple of months, even though the destination is not known yet. The number 34 of the Bucks is still young (31 years old), and he wants to grab another NBA title after 2021.
If the current season is happening to be the last one of Giannis with the Milwaukee Bucks, there is no doubt that a feeling of disappointment will appear at some point. It would be a sullen end of story after so many years playing for the franchise. The Bucks are playing tonight against another team in pain this season, the Indiana Pacers. The path of the cross may be very long for Milwaukee (and the fans) if they do not find a solution to win at least a few games.
